Elise 7 ans expatriée or 7 years old and Expat

The dynamic duo, composed by our very own beATL Virginie Houet and Texas-based Corinne Feuillet Luca, has finally seen their dream come true!

Today, their bilingual book, full of sweet drawings, has hit the US market!  Aimed at children who are entering – or living – the journey of expatriation. The book titled “Elise 7 ans expatriée or 7 years old and Expat”, narrates the emotional rollercoaster that a seven-year old girl experiences during her various moves.  Following her parents throughout the world, the impact of moving is explained through Elise’s eyes.  She lets us in on her experiences and shares her feelings.  It is never easy to drop your bags in one place and be told to pack again a few years later.  Her emotions are expressed in a mere few simple, but fresh and poetic sentences, accompanied by cute illustrations.  The book is written in both French and English – without ever falling in the trap of becoming an insipid translation!

Corinne and Virginie became friends in Texas and quickly decided to combine their skills.  After a lot of hard work, the book saw the light, first in Belgium***, France and Switzerland on January 10, and as of today, February 21st, it is available on the American and Canadian shelves.

On February 24th, Corinne Feuillet Luca will present their book at the Awty International School, 7455 Awty School Lane, Houston, TX, 77055 and on March 28th, at Mark White Elementary 2515 Old Farm Rd, Houston, TX 77063.

Virginie Houet will take care of the Georgian side.  Meet her at “Lesson de Français”, 390 Prospect Place Suite 390 à Alpharetta – 30005 (North of Atlanta) on Saturday, April 14th.  You will be able to buy your copy on site.

*** It is easy to order your copy from sites like fr.fnac.be, belgiqueloisirs.com and chapitre.be
