Let’s go to the movie!

During the Annual Francophonie Festival in Atlanta, l’Alliance Française, in collaboration with our Consulate General, will present the Belgian movie “Je suis mort mais j’ai des amis” (2015), by Guillaume and Stéphane Malandrin.

In short, it’s about four Belgian rockers (Bouli LannersWim Willaert) confronted by a soldier, who claims to be their late band mate’s lover.

The movie is in French but undertitled in English.

Atlanta’s Francophonie Festival is organized by the Atlanta Francophonie Committee, a multi-cultural collaboration between represented by the Consulates of Belgium, Canada, France, Haiti and Switzerland, the Québec Delegation in Atlanta,the American Association of Teachers of French, the Alliance Française of Atlanta, the French American Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta-Accueil and Ecole du Samedi.
Other French-language events are organized throughout March.

Petanque anyone?


Throw balls at a Pig on roughly level ground and have fun with friends around!  The Roswell Petanque Club launches March 3, 2018 under the initiative of beATL Isabelle Gibson and her husband Peter.  It is the first club member of the Atlanta Petanque League (APL) and other locations in the Atlanta area are already showing interest in starting an APL member club!  Play socially or to compete! All ages and skill levels welcome.

Interested? Go to www.Meetup.com and search for Roswell Petanque Club to join or RSVP.  Games are 1st and 3rd Saturday 10am to 12noon and 1st & 3rd Tuesday 5.30pm to 7.00pm.

If you don’t have boules, they will have a limited amount to loan but make sure that your wear closed toe shoes!

Membership:

  • Adult Membership: $65.00 per member per year (with an annual $50.00 Club APL fee)
  • Under 18 Membership: $25.00 per year
  • First three games free, within 45 days, then join as a member or pay $10.00 to play.

Your APL membership will provide, via the Federation of Petanque, USA, an accident waiver and release of liability to protect participants and club office bearers against claims from club events.   Pétanque is not viewed as a dangerous sport, but accidents can happen.
