Belgian THIRSTday | 11/3/2016

Did you know that the Decatur’s Brick Store Pub founders have been enthroned as new Knights of The Belgium Knighthood of the Brewers’ Paddle (The Guild of the Belgian Brewers)?

One of the owners – Dave Blanchard [see picture] – traveled to our Capital for this exceptional and impressive event… Just imagine: an American in Brussels facing such an old tradition in a Middle Ages edifice.

This event-full September weekend starts with the Celebration of Saint-Arnould, Patron Saint of brewers with the consecration of the beer in the Saint Michael and Gudula Cathedral on Friday afternoon.  The mass is followed by the Academic session and enthronement ceremony of the Knighthood of the Brewers’ Paddle, in the Gothic room of the Town Hall of Brussels before ending on the Grand Place for the Solemn inauguration of the beer stands.  Saturday and Sunday are dedicated to beer tastings, processions and parades of all kinds.

Let’s celebrate this next Thursday!  Join beATL upstairs at the Belgian Bar … don’t forget to RSVP.

Logistics

  • When: Thursday November, 3rd, 2016 from 7 pm
  • Where: Brick Store Pub | 125 E Court Square, Decatur, GA 30030
